Latest Updates from Our Project:

Should be July 26
almost 3 years ago – Sun, Jul 18, 2021 at 10:03:46 PM

IT did the equivalent of turned it off and on about a month ago. However life went to the upside down.

I'm shooting for July 26, because I want to make sure this series of onesheets are also done and ready to go.

Have a great weekend.

almost 3 years ago – Wed, May 26, 2021 at 10:12:01 AM

Hey Folks, I'm desperately still waiting for this issue to be fixed. It's been an every couple of days contact with them.

There is no solace in this message. I get that. Thanks for hanging in there.

Still waiting on IT - backerkit unlock
almost 3 years ago – Fri, May 07, 2021 at 02:10:29 PM

For those that have moved and need their Backerkit unlocked. You can message me directly here. Or you can message via email. AmoraGame   it's a Gmail account.

IT has been able to narrow down the issue. It is not a problem with the email spitting system, but the company account profile. Ticket has been escalated to tier 2 support. And now... we hurry up and wait.

Have art to sooth you over.

Tech issue with the email system.
almost 3 years ago – Thu, May 06, 2021 at 11:32:31 AM

Since 11:30 this morning, I've been trying to get the emails sent out via DriveThruRPG. There was an issue with the list of emails not sending. It just hangs there and spins. I reached out to IT support, but am still waiting on a response back. Thanks for waiting and I will update ASAP. More then likely you'll receive the email from them, before I get to the update post. As I have to send it out and have it work, before I have an update. But will keep you posted.

Update Numbered Something
almost 3 years ago – Sun, Apr 18, 2021 at 11:27:17 PM

Good Late Sunday. Since our last update many real world events have happened. I look to address these issues openly with you as I have done in the past. For those that wish to know just about the current status of the book, you only need to read the first section.

Disclaimer for disgruntled: In regards to refunds

As mentioned more than once during this campaign and in several updates, at any point you wish to pull support for this project and request a refund you may do so at any time. As this has always been our openly stated policy. This is your final opportunity to do so.

TLDR: May 5, 2021 is PDF release.

When last we left our adventure, I had a short and VERY brief update that print proofs had come in. I shouldn’t say print proofs so much as print samples. Testing different paper weight for the hardbacks and softcovers from several different printers. This took some cash reserve, but was worth the experiment. A print has been decided with the softcover and the hardcover.

This must mean the book is complete and ready for distribution? Yes and no. Due to the continued rise of hate against AAPI in and outside of our community, I decided to clean write a few segments of the book. And perform a second deep scrub of any missed things that could be viewed as oriental-ism. This is out of respect to those of the AAPI and direct family members who I love deeply. Doing this causes a print production delay, as new print proofs will need to be ordered before shipping can be done. Not a big deal, just time waiting.

What does all of this mean? With aspects of the book rewritten and re-edits done, the release date of the PDF Is May 5 of the main book. Kui’s Journal (bestiary) to follow shortly. Interspersed with adventures and one sheets. The poker cards should follow in tandem, along with shipping of physical copies.

This ends the project update.

Short reasons for the dry stint of updates since last update: A few reasons.

  • 1. I ordered a few more pieces of art for this project. I was unsatisfied by the few lingering stock arts within in the pages and wanted them replaced. I ordered art. Like a usagimimi fighting with a basabasa mount (see below).
  • 2. It was not the proper time, nor felt like the right time. Even with two sensitivity editors and the focus of inspiration from manga and anime. There were aspects of this book I didn’t feel comfortable with on the pages. Or as a perfectionist with imposter syndrome, the pages I looked at didn’t feel good enough or respectful. With all the things going on in the world, it was a call I stand by.
  • 3. Work. As an accountant this is a busy time of year. With the opportunity to make a little extra money, I took it. Keeping a roof secured over the head of my family will always take first priority.
  • 4. Cancer. A brother of mine was struck with cancer and as anyone who has had that experience, it takes front and center stage. Sadly, this past Monday he is no longer with us. Happily, any discomfort he had, has ended.

And that wraps up this update. We’ll be speaking again soon.
